Harmony of the Seas Extra-Spacious Ocean View Balcony Review: Was Cabin 12604 Worth $200 More?

We stayed in cabin 12604 on Harmony of the Seas, an extra-spacious ocean-view balcony cabin. The upgrade cost us about $200 more than the standard balcony option. After seeing exactly what the extra money bought, we would not pay that premium again.

Worth It Rating

Overall: 5.4/10

❤️ Best for: Someone who finds the upgrade for only a very small price difference

💰 Value: 3/10 at a $200 premium

🛏️ Cabin quality: 8/10

🌊 Balcony quality: 7/10

✅ Would we book cabin 12604 again: Yes, if priced like a normal balcony

❌ Would we pay $200 extra for the “extra spacious” designation again: No

THE VERDICT: The cabin was perfectly good. The $200 upgrade was not.

What was actually bigger?

The interior of the room felt the same size as a regular balcony cabin. Bed, bathroom, storage and the overall cabin experience were all what we expected from Royal Caribbean. The only meaningful difference was outside: roughly two extra feet of balcony space along one side.

Was the location good?

Yes. We liked the location of 12604 and had no meaningful complaints about noise or convenience.

Who should pay for it?

If the extra-spacious balcony is only slightly more expensive than a standard balcony, the additional outdoor room is nice to have. At a $200 difference, we would keep the money for drinks, dining, an excursion or another cruise add-on instead.

Worth It verdict

Book the cabin for the location and balcony experience if the price is right. Do not assume “extra spacious” means a larger interior room — in our cabin, the extra value was almost entirely a modest increase in balcony width.
