Where to Eat at MCO Gates 1-29 Right Now: What’s New, What’s Still Open & What We’d Choose

Airport food advice gets outdated fast—especially at MCO right now. Gates 1-29 are actively changing, so this is a September 2026 snapshot of what we actually saw on the concourse.

1. 4 Rivers: the most interesting new option

If we wanted an actual meal rather than coffee or a snack, this is the first place we would look. The new 4 Rivers location is one of the clearest signs that MCO is trying to bring more Central Florida identity into the airport rather than relying only on interchangeable national chains.

We did not eat there on this walk-through, so this is not a food-quality review yet. But in terms of variety and atmosphere, it is the most compelling new addition we saw.

2. The new larger Starbucks

For an early flight or a quick coffee before boarding, the larger Starbucks is the practical winner. The counter is significantly more open and should handle airport traffic better than a small kiosk-style setup.

Interestingly, the older Starbucks across the way was still there during our visit, so travelers currently have an unusual overlap while the concourse transitions.

3. On the Border is still there

On the Border was still operating when we visited. That means travelers who prefer a sit-down familiar option have not lost it—at least for now.

4. Hudson is still open—and construction is next door

Hudson remained open for snacks, drinks and travel basics. We also saw construction immediately next to Hudson News, so expect the surrounding lineup to keep changing.

What we would choose

For a meal: 4 Rivers. For coffee or breakfast-on-the-go: the larger Starbucks. For a familiar sit-down option: On the Border. For bottled drinks, snacks or last-minute travel items: Hudson.

Worth It Florida tip

If your flight is leaving from Gates 1-29, give yourself a little extra browsing time. The concourse is changing quickly enough that the best option on your next trip may not be the same one that was best on your last trip.

MCO says the larger concession overhaul across Terminals A and B is being phased in through late 2028, so we will keep updating this guide as more locations open.
