If you are booking AviaSim Orlando, the extra 20 minutes is one upgrade I would keep. I have done the simulator twice, and the longer session gave us enough time to learn the cockpit basics without sacrificing the part we actually came for: flying.

Worth It Rating

Overall: 8/10 ❤️ Best for: Teens, adults and aviation-obsessed kids 💰 Value: Best closer to $100 total ✨ Experience: 8/10 ✈️ Extra 20 minutes: Worth it 📸 Photos/videos: Yes — our session was private and we could take our own ✅ We’d do it again: Maybe — especially if you are interested in learning to fly

THE VERDICT: Yes. If you are already spending the money to do a realistic flight simulator, I would rather pay for the extra 20 minutes than shorten the part where you actually get to fly.

Why the extra time mattered

The instructor first showed us how the cockpit worked and then helped us as we went. Neither of us had to arrive knowing how to fly. The longer booking gave us time for that instruction and still let both people take off, land and fly multiple times.

That made the session feel like an experience rather than a rushed demonstration. We could choose airports and cities, switch turns, make mistakes and try again.

Who should pay for it

What I would pay

My personal sweet spot for AviaSim is about $100. The package we bought cost more, so I view it as a splurge. But once I decided to do it, the extra 20 minutes was the part I would not remove to save money.

One more perk: it is private

Our simulator sessions were private, and we were free to take our own photos and videos. That made it much better as a date and as an experience to remember afterward.

Bottom line

If you are interested enough in aviation to book AviaSim Orlando, book enough time to actually enjoy it. For us, the extra 20 minutes made the pacing much better and was worth the upgrade.
