Why the company itself impressed us

Once we were there, I felt safe. Our pilot was knowledgeable, explained what was happening, and made the experience exciting without making it feel reckless. For something that can look intimidating in photos, I was surprised by how comfortable I felt once we were in the air.

The views are part of the experience

Even without the aerobatics, flying in an open-cockpit biplane gives you a completely different view of Florida. You are low enough to recognize the coastline, neighborhoods, waterways, and beaches below, but high enough that the landscape feels completely transformed.

Is the aerobatic upgrade worth it?

Yes. We paid for the double aerobatic upgrade, which at the time was listed at $149.99. It included four wingovers, two loops, and two rolls. That was incredibly fun—but after doing it, I do not think you need the double package to get the point of the experience.

The single aerobatic upgrade was listed at $99.99 and included two wingovers, one loop, and one roll. If I were booking again, I would choose that and save the extra $50. You still get the big wow moment without paying for essentially a second round.

Is the $50 HD video worth it?

For us, yes. The HD video add-on was $49.99, and I am glad we bought it. I also used my phone during takeoff, which gave us our own point of view, but the professionally captured footage gave us angles we could not have gotten ourselves—especially during the aerobatics.

Who should book this

What we would book next time

I would absolutely use Florida Air Tours again. My ideal version would be the regular sightseeing flight plus the single aerobatic upgrade and the HD video. That combination keeps the best parts of what we did while trimming the easiest $50 to save.
