Is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Worth $179.99? Our 2026 Adult Review

We paid $179.99 each for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2026, didn’t reach Magic Kingdom until 7:14 p.m., and still left thinking the ticket was worth it. In one night we rode four major attractions with short waits, hit all 15 trick-or-treat stops, watched the 10 p.m. fireworks and the 11:15 p.m. parade, ate dinner, and left with more candy than we could fit in the complimentary bag.
Worth It Rating: 9/10. For adults who will stay late and actually use the party-exclusive offerings, this felt like better value than a normal Magic Kingdom day.
What We Paid
Our ticket was exactly $179.99 per person. That is expensive for an event ticket, especially because it is on top of the cost of a regular Disney trip if you are visiting from out of town. But the value changed for us once we compared what we actually accomplished during the party with what a normal busy Magic Kingdom evening can feel like.
We Arrived Late — and I Don’t Think You Need to Arrive at 4
Because of work, we could not make the common strategy of arriving as early as possible. We left home around 6 p.m., arrived at the Transportation and Ticket Center at 6:45, got in the monorail line around 6:55, the monorail arrived at 7:08, and we were at Magic Kingdom at 7:14 p.m.
We did not have a meaningful wait to get into the park or receive our party wristbands. Disney was already handing out the complimentary treat bags and candy by at least 6:30 p.m.
Would arriving at 4 p.m. have helped? Yes. With another hour or two, we probably could have fit in several more rides. But based on our night, I do not think arriving at 4 is necessary to get your money’s worth. We arrived after 7 and still did almost everything that mattered to us.
The Crowds Felt Noticeably Lighter
The park did not feel empty, but it felt lighter than a normal Magic Kingdom day. The biggest difference was simply having room to walk. We were not constantly fighting through a wall of people, and we could move through the park naturally instead of planning the entire night around ride queues.
Our Actual 2026 Party Itinerary
We did not zigzag across the park chasing the absolute lowest wait time. We basically worked our way around Magic Kingdom, rode attractions as we reached them, and picked up candy along the way.
We started with two candy stops, then rode Space Mountain. From there we went to the Storybook Circus treat stop, rode Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, completed three more candy stops around Fantasyland, and rode Haunted Mansion. We then watched the 10 p.m. fireworks from the left side in front of Cinderella Castle near the walkway toward Adventureland.
After the fireworks, we hit the Big Thunder Mountain treat stop and rode Big Thunder. Then we completed three candy stops through Adventureland before heading back toward Main Street for the 11:15 p.m. Boo-to-You parade.
We left after the parade. We were tired and felt like we had already experienced enough, even though the party was still going.
The Ride Waits Were the Biggest Value
Space Mountain was posted at 5 minutes and was essentially a 5-minute wait. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train took about 15 minutes. Haunted Mansion took about 15 minutes. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was posted at 15 minutes, but our actual wait was closer to 5.
That is a huge part of why the party felt worth $179.99 to us. We were able to ride several of Magic Kingdom’s most popular attractions without spending the night standing in line.
Big Thunder Mountain After the Refurbishment
Big Thunder immediately felt different after its recent refurbishment. The track felt smoother, the ride felt faster and more fun, and the new large gold-nugget effect with sound was very noticeable. The new scene has a slightly cultish energy, but it works — we thought it was a good addition.
We Did All 15 Trick-or-Treat Stops
This surprised me: the candy was not an afterthought. We went through all 15 trick-or-treat locations shown on the 2026 party map, and the lines were basically walk-throughs. Cast Members were generous at the stops.
By the end of the night, we had completely filled the complimentary party bag and also filled my purse. Most of the candy was mini-size, but it was good candy: M&M’s, peanut M&M’s, Skittles, gummies, Twix, Snickers and more. We also received a full-size Twix and a bag of Combos.
If you actually enjoy trick-or-treating, do not underestimate this part of the event. The amount of candy ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the night.
The 10 p.m. Fireworks: I Would Skip Them
We watched Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular at 10 p.m. from the left side in front of the castle near the Adventureland walkway. This was probably the weakest part of the night for us.
The fireworks themselves were fine, but the overall show felt disjointed from what was being projected onto Cinderella Castle. If I were doing the party again and had to choose where to spend limited time, I would skip the fireworks and use that window for rides, candy or another party-exclusive experience.
The 11:15 p.m. Boo-to-You Parade Was Worth Staying For
The parade was the opposite: it was surprisingly good. We watched the 11:15 p.m. Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade from Main Street, across from Crystal Palace. We arrived about 25 minutes early, got food, sat down and ate while waiting, and ended up with a great view.
The parade included a huge mix of characters, and it felt much more worth carving time out of the night for than the fireworks. If you are choosing between the two, I would prioritize the parade.
What About the Characters?
Character meets were not a priority for us, so we did not spend party time waiting in those lines. We still saw characters around the event, including Max dressed as Powerline, Goofy and Belle. The 2026 party guide also listed dedicated greetings throughout the park, so character-focused guests could build a completely different night than ours.
What We Ate
Food was not a major focus for us. We had chicken fingers from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café and a Mickey ice cream sandwich. We skipped the specialty Halloween food because rides, candy and the parade mattered more to us.
Who Is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Worth It For?
I think the party makes the most sense for adults, couples and families who are willing to stay late and want a combination of low ride waits, Halloween atmosphere, trick-or-treating and exclusive entertainment. It is especially compelling if you value doing a lot in a relatively short period without buying your way around individual ride lines.
Who Should Skip It?
I would skip it for families who know they want to be gone by 9 p.m. A lot of the value is concentrated later in the evening, and leaving early means missing the late parade and some of the lowest ride waits.
I would also think twice if you care only about rides and do not mind waiting during a regular park day or visiting during an off-peak period. The ticket makes more sense when you actually want the Halloween-specific parts of the event too.
Was Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Worth $179.99?
Yes. I would pay for it again.
We arrived later than many party guides recommend, stayed for roughly four hours of the official party, and still rode Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain; completed every trick-or-treat stop; watched both major nighttime entertainment offerings; ate dinner; and left with an enormous amount of candy.
The fireworks were skippable and $179.99 is undeniably expensive, but the short waits, lighter crowds, candy and surprisingly good parade made the night feel like better value than a normal Magic Kingdom day for us.
THE VERDICT: Worth it — especially if you can stay through the late parade. You do not have to arrive at 4 p.m. to have a great night, but an extra hour or two would give you room for even more rides.
