Space 220 Bar Review: Is Disney World’s Best Hidden Gem Worth It?
Updated: Sep 21
Space 220 is one of my favorite hidden-gem experiences at EPCOT — but I almost never do it the way most people think you have to. I have been six times, every visit at the bar, and I now prefer the bar enough that I once cancelled a dinner reservation because we did not want to commit to the prix-fixe meal.
Worth It Rating
Overall: 9.4/10
❤️ Best for: Adults, couples and frequent EPCOT visitors who want a memorable break without committing to the full dining experience
💰 Value: 9/10 when you use the bar
✨ Experience: 10/10
🍽️ Food: 8/10 — good, but the atmosphere is the real star
🚀 Immersion: 10/10
💸 Typical spend: About $100 for several drinks and small plates during a longer bar visit
⏱️ Our casual standby cutoff: 45 minutes
❌ Skip it if: You are unwilling to wait or only want a quick meal with no interest in the experience
✅ We’d go back: Absolutely — we already have, six times
THE VERDICT: Yes — Space 220 is a must-do at EPCOT, and for us the bar is the best way to experience it. If we are casually passing by, we will wait up to about 45 minutes. If we came specifically for Space 220, we would wait more than an hour — up to roughly 75 minutes.

Why the bar is the hidden gem
The biggest advantage is flexibility. At the bar, we can order drinks, appetizers, sides and smaller plates instead of structuring the whole visit around the prix-fixe dining menu. I usually go around dinner time, although I have also gone in the middle of the afternoon.
That makes Space 220 work as an experience instead of a full meal commitment. We can stay one to three hours, have a few drinks, order what sounds good, and enjoy the room.
The atmosphere is why I keep coming back
The food is good — not the best food in Disney World — but the environment changes the equation. Space 220 is so immersive that it genuinely feels like you went to space to eat and drink. That combination of decent food plus a truly unique setting is what makes it special.

What I order
My favorite drink is the $18 Up All Night espresso martini. Every time I have ordered it, it has come with the little nitro-frozen ice cream sandwich garnish, which makes it feel more like a Disney experience than a standard espresso martini.
The truffle fries are also delicious. You can even get an alcoholic glitter shot if you want something extra playful.

How the standby bar wait works
Go to the regular Space 220 check-in desk, tucked to the side of Mission: SPACE, and tell them you want to sit at the bar. When I have done standby, we have waited along the wall until called.
My personal rule is simple: if we did not specifically come to EPCOT for Space 220, I do not want to spend more than about 45 minutes of park time waiting. I have been quoted 45 minutes and gotten in in about 20. If Space 220 itself were the reason for the visit, I would tolerate a longer wait — around an hour and 15 minutes.
Can groups sit together?
I have done the bar with parties ranging from two to five people, and we have always been seated together.
What about kids?
Kids can sit at the bar, but I would choose an afternoon visit for a family. At night, I think the bar works much better for adults, couples or groups of friends.

Worth It Florida verdict
Space 220 is one of the few EPCOT experiences I would call a must-do even after multiple visits. The trick is that I do not think you need to build your day around a full prix-fixe dinner to get what makes it special. For us, the bar is the sweet spot: full immersion, flexible ordering, excellent drinks and enough food to settle in for a while.
